    Leisure battery connection (negative)

Great thank you for the replies :) I don't have access to a soldering iron unfortunately, but the van is going in for a service in a few weeks so I'll ask if that can be sorted to secure it further.

    Leisure battery connection (negative)

Hi, just noticed this has become disconnected (see photo below) whilst doing some checks on the caravan before we go away in a couple of weeks. The leisure battery is in the house at the moment as we remove it during winter. Is it easy and safe to reconnect this wire to the metal holding...

Leisure battery terminal, is it rust or something to be concerned about?

Thanks, glad it’s nothing to worry about. Some of it seems quite stubborn so am I ok to go at it with a bristly toothbrush or something similar? I’ll apply Vaseline when it’s sorted too (y)

Leisure battery terminal, is it rust or something to be concerned about?

Hi, We store our leisure battery in the house in a cupboard under the stairs over the winter, I took it out of the van about 2 months ago. The cupboard is where we store a few other things (coats, shoes, other boxes of things not used often). I’ve just gone to get something out and noticed...

Sealing a hairline crack - back right corner of caravan

Yeah the photo isn’t great, the tape does continue fully to the other side but there is a ‘break’ in it, so I’m going to speak to the repair guys tomorrow about that as well. Looks like there’s been a lot of patch up works done already (a little since we’ve owned the van) but not the awning rail...

Sealing a hairline crack - back right corner of caravan

It looks like the caravan already has the corner covers. Just gone up to try find the crack I found yesterday but can’t remember exactly where it was, I think it’s on the awning rail.

Sealing a hairline crack - back right corner of caravan

Thanks for the thorough explanation, I'm trying to learn more about caravans as I go! Our van is an sterling eccles sport 442 (2012). So 10+ years old now. We were thinking of upgrading to a newer caravan at the end of this year, but with all these little damp issues I think we'll hang on to it...

Sealing a hairline crack - back right corner of caravan

Thanks for both answers, I am actually due to take the van in to an approved workshop tomorrow (more damp on the front bit window, found the front window seals need re-doing! :(). I might just leave this to the pro's as well, I was going to try and save a bit of cash if it was a fairly simple...

Sealing a hairline crack - back right corner of caravan

Hi, I've trawled through a few posts about this but thought I best describe my own problem to make sure I choose the right product. I've found some water coming through the very top right back corner of the caravan, in the wardrobe. I got on the ladder yesterday and found a small crack a...

Caravan damp repaired but left with marks

Hi John thanks, I have a damp meter, the damp has been sorted. It’s the marks that I’d like to remove which appeared while the damp was occurring before.

Caravan damp repaired but left with marks

We had our service done for the caravan this year and the front right hand side had some damp which they believed has been caused by water ingress through the window seals. So the caravan has been in and they said it had been caught just in time, I.E no structural damage and they’ve had it in...
