    Another dealership goes

To be fair to the dealer in current market everyone's expecting a discount. So if they want to get their money back or better still make a few quid they need to factor that in.

Proper cleaning of caravan exterior panels - retro caravan

The reality is only machine polish will have the desired effect. The external layer will be permanently stained and needs polishing back if you want a factory finish. Depends on the materials as to what you could use. I'm lucky as mine was aluminium so I could just hit it with regular car...

    Extortionate price for blind peg/spiggots

I suspect there's a decimal place wrong. Prima is expensive but it's not that expensive.

Feeding cable into caravan for 5G antenna while parked up only

Through a window., assuming the wire isnt too thick it will slip past the seal easy enough.

    Insurance renewal

The company is peacock but they're just a broker. There was another company with much better 'presentation' but the small print revealed by caravan has its door on the wrong side.....

    Insurance renewal

Just insured via compare the market, £70 cheaper than the club price last year and seems to be as good cover. Given my caravan isn't the most expensive £70 is a big chunk!

    Massive MS IT global outage!

It only effects you if youre a Microsoft AND Cloudstrike user, but cloudstrike is a pretty big company with alot of global clients using their threat protection software. Personally I wouldn't touch Microsoft software with a bargepole this issue or otherwise (Other than Excel which remains the...

    What’s wrong with our Dealers?

Is it getting or are people making it to expensive? I don't spend much on mine. I maybe invested £1000 in it over the 4 years we've had this one (above the cost of sites). I don't think Ive enjoyed the experience any less than if I had a 30k caravan. In fact Im convinced I enjoyed it more. OK...

    What’s wrong with our Dealers?

Sad to say its exactly why I wouldn't go to a dealer unless it was literally the only place I could find the specific van I wanted. If say you'd bought my caravan when I come to sell it, its not expensive, maybe 4-5k. However I can tell you everything about it, and I would show you how to do...

    What’s wrong with our Dealers?

Im sorry thats your experience but its not mine. For example this month is renewal month for our vans and I didn't remember it being expensive. So I checked and it only went up from £652 in 2021 (Per vehicle) to £681 this year, thats < £30 increase over 3 years per vehicle. I do remember a bit...

    What’s wrong with our Dealers?

Only if they operate across multiple sites I would imagine. Or they're somehow a giant barbers shop. Then they're not really a small business are they? Our local barbers has 8 cutting stations, sofas, a pool table. It's only 2/3rds of the way to having to pay rates. I get the principle of...

    What’s wrong with our Dealers?

Business the size of a barbers probably doesn't pay business rates. It's a myth that small businesses get hammered by rates. I mean it depends on your definition of small of course, but a barbers? No rates to pay. Just sayin' ;)

    Extension socket

I bought a similar cube thing from Boyes in town, cost me £10 IIRC, has done many trips in the caravan no issues.

    Awning Rail Seal

FWIW I had multiple sizes/styles on my van, so I ordered 1m of each possible type from them (including making sure I covered the options too for grey vs silver) and ended up buying 2 different sizes to cover all my trim. I also resprayed the little plastic end caps at the same time. Looks great.
