Has anybody taken one of these apart

The tool looks like this which I bought from Snap-on:

    Caravan detaching from tow car

I see nobody has mentioned this so just to add to the discussion: The 'pop-up' indicator on Alko hitches can sometimes stick in the out position which would suggest all is OK. Any grit or dirt can cause this so best to check the indicator moves in and out freely while the caravan is unhitched.

    Pop-up inner bedroom for awning

Looks interesting. I can't tell from the picturte, but do you think the poles stay in place on the tent? Or do they have to be threaded into place? I have a Kyham drive away awning/tent for the van (which works a bit like an umbrella) and if it opoened up like that it would be ideal.

Will the sliding roof light lift out?

If it's the same as mine (although mine slides forward) I too would like to know how the window is removed. I needed to take the whole unit out to re-seal but as I couldn't get the window off I was only able to seal three sides by sliding the sealer gun into the gap. I don't know what make it...

    Pop-up inner bedroom for awning

Net protection would be good, especially when we're at the Med and the mozzies are about. I already have a good self-inflating roll-mat so I may invest in one more and find a two berth pop-up tent that fits the dimensions. It means not having the headroom of course but if there's nothing...

    Pop-up inner bedroom for awning

There's not much in the way of poles for hanging stuff in the Fiamma. The end poles are enclosed once the end panels are zipped on and the centre rafter (which is intended only as a support to stop rain collecting on the canopy) only rests in a loop of fabric on the caravan wall side. I have...

    Pop-up inner bedroom for awning

Thanks Silver Surfer, is it this one, now reduced to £10.80? We've got a three berth tent like that (which is too large) but I don't like the long 'poles'. I was hoping for something quicker but also that could be deployed inside the awning rather than erected outside then moved into the...

    Pop-up inner bedroom for awning

No way, we had enough of lugging around a big awning and annex, and having to dry it out when we got home. We like being able to have just a canopy in seconds with the option for an extra room if we stay anywhere more than a day. But thanks for the suggestion

    Pop-up inner bedroom for awning

If all else fails then I will probably resign myself to using (well, not myself as it's for teenagers and they can cope better than me) ordinary pop-up tents of the cheap variety and use roll mats instead of air beds. This way they could be removed during the day making the awning usable...

    Pop-up inner bedroom for awning

My daughter slept in a single pop-up tent (in the awning) last year and the condensation was imense. A two berth would have been better for one person I suppose but on occasions like last weekend we had three tenagers sleeping in the awning in two 'net' type inners so whatever solution has to be...

    Pop-up inner bedroom for awning

We have a Fiamma Caravanstore Zip which is 4.1m long, 2.25m deep and 2m high at the 'shallow' end. The problem we have is supporting a traditional inner tent/bedroom due to there not being many poles on view. At the moment I use a couple of 25mm straps from one side to the other which is a bit...

Have a look for 'Anderson sockets' on eBay. They come in a variety of sizes for different amperage and cable size.

Would you use nail polish remover on caravan windows?

The previous owner of our caravan had Selotaped 'For Sale' notices in each window and once in my possesion I had the task of removing four remnants of tape from each window. The tape must have been on the window for some time and was well and truly cured. Once the skin of the tape had been...

    Green Flag Breakdown Cover

I have Green Flag cover with the Continental addition (bought direct even though we're CC members) and called them out while in the south of France a couple of years back. The vehicle exhibited turbo problems and we limped to our destination campsite and called Green Flag from there. The phone...
