1st time caravanner/tower looking for an easy site

A site close to you and affiliated to the CC is Milestone, just off the A1 north of Newark. We use this site often, there is usually pitches available at weekends, but you do have to ring them as they are not on the CC booking system. A nice site, plenty of room and surprisingly quiet to say...

fully serviced pitch - whats needed

We have been using the aquaroll float kit for a number of years now and I assume that is what everybody here is talking about. But there is an alternative called the Aquasource which plugs straight into the water inlet point on the caravan, so you dont need to carry the aquaroll with you at...

    Electric Socket on Kia Sportage

The Kia towbar that was fitted to our Sportage a couple of years ago turned out to be a cheap looking nasty piece of kit which rusted at the welds within 3 months. I replaced it with a Witter detachable soon after. (the only reason I had the Kia bar was that it was thrown in as part of the...

Noseweight for Swift Challenger 560 (2009 model)

Our 560's nose weight should be 100kg, but we also struggle to obtain that weight, but with careful loading we do come very near to it. Our tow car has a very high nose-weight limit so is no problem. (Another Trevor).

    Bingham Grange

We have used Binghams Grange (or Farm as it was) many times over the last few years and have always really enjoyed the site and the area. The only down side for us is that the new owners have started to cram in extra pitches between the rows of existing pitches presumably in the interest of...

    waterless caravan cleaner

I use miracle shine I think its called, Spray on and wipe off, no scratches, no flies and leaves a showroom shine. A bit expensive though but I am only using the second bottle(of a two bottle kit) after nearly two years use. I usually only have to do the front and rear of the van.

    Fridge on 12v

Another common problem is the centre pin of the caravan 12s plug squeezing together and providing a poor earth for the fridge, you need to get a thin knife blade and "open up" the segments of the pin to ensure a reliable earth return.

    Moorview caravan park Modbury

Hi Trucker, Been many times over the past few years, it is a adult only site of course, but a really nice site run by very nice and obliging people. Many fully serviced pitches on hard standings with all the usual facilities, the owners wife does a splendid fish and chip take away on Fridays...

    Over turned caravans

Whilst travelling solo today I came up behind a new Swift Challenger 570 (MTPLM of almost 1600Kg being towed by a smallish Citroen saloon. This must have been at least a 120% match. Is is any wonder there are accidents ?

    Kia Sportage 2.o CDRI

I tow a 1500kg Swift with all the usual stuff on board including full awning(poles in the 'van). This includes a dog cage and all the bits required for a two-week stay. The Sportage performs without fuss and tows very easily.Cant fault it as a tow car but it does have a slight "flat-spot" solo...

    New Swift and Eccles models

A little disappointed to see that Swift are still not producing an Island bed/L-shaped front lounge model. We are looking at this layout as we have had l-shaped lounges in all our previous vans. Will possibly have to "migrate" to Xplorer Group as they do feature this layout in several of their...

    Kia Sportage

My Sportage although the 138bhp version is a superb towcar, It tows my 1500kg Swift easily, and touch wood so far there have been no reliability issues other than an irritating intermittent flat spot problem. It is used every day for work and is just coming up to 10k miles and its first service...
