12 Volt Electrics Again

Swift Rapide 440 1996

Hi

Can anyone help, i have at the 12s socket at the rear of the car an output of 13.7ish volts (car running) on both fridge an Batt Charger.

My problem is that at the Battery i have only 12.1 volts, pins on both the plug and socket have been cleaned an checked. I feel that i may have a broken cable somewhere on the caravan, any suggestions? .

Derek

Are you testing with the van battery connected as this could lower the reading if the battery itself is low.

Try disconnecting the van battery and check the battery leads for volts reading.

You will then be able to verify the wiring or find that you need to investigate any joints in the wire particularly Scotch locks.

Hi John

No Scotch Locks (can't stand them) here only nice bright solder joints with shrink wrap on them, battery is at its normal level (not fully charged and not at this moment needing a top-up)
