while towing my old elddis i had no problems but i will shortly be picking my new 2000 van up and taking it away to get to know it I have been informed that the post 1998 caravans are wired differently Can anyone tell me what i have to do and what i have to change so i can use the 12v system ie fridge--charger etc whilst towing

Pre - 1998

Pin Cable Colour Function

1. Yellow Reversing light

2. Blue Caravan Battery or charger

3. White Earth

4. Green Constant 12v feed

5. Brown Sensing device

6. Red Refrigerator

7. Black Spare

After 1998

Pin Cable Colour Function

1. Yellow Reversing light

2. Blue Spare

3. White Negative for Lights & Charge

4. Green Interior Light & Charge

5. Brown Spare

6. Red Refrigerator

7. Black Negative for Fridge

If you wire the centre pin (black) to earth(as well as the existing!) in your 12S socket then you can use it for the old and new system

do i take the black wire out of pin 7 and earth that or run another black wire from the pin and earth that also do i leave all the other pins and wires alone

Leave the others alone(assuming they are working) and connect the end of the existing black lead to earth on the car if its not already been done
