12v audio amplifier?

Hi gang,
I was convinced I'd read in a past mag issue about an upcoming review on such a beast; Something *** packet sized that you plug your ipod, tablet etc. into and have amplified sound sent to car audio speakers in the van.
Did I dream it or does such a thingy exist? Any links / reviews wouls be cool.

Hi Paws, Sort of close... I seem to recall it was more like this scenario:
Hardwired speakers in the van, but instead of a car stereo attached, this gizmo was cabled up to the speakers and it had an input like a 3.5mm headphone jack on it that you just plug the source into (portable cd, ipod, tablet etc). Thus taking digital music off the device and putting it through the caravan speakers via this bit of gadgetry. A bit like a modern card radio with an aux input. (I can see where this is going) I could live without the radio bit.

I obviously missed the issue with it (if it ever existed) or have I just had a marketable idea? (I'd sell at least one to me!)

On the rare occasions we use the ipod in the van I just plug it into the stereo which seems to work quite well. Have to say though we use the radio much more, after all couldn't miss the daily dose of the Archers!!!! Am hinking about a DAB thingy for car and van though to get R4 extra on the move!
