Hi all, not sure of proper names for stuff yet so sorry if I seem dim! I have just driven for two hundred miles with both cables which connect my brand new Adria to the car dragging along the road. As a result they are no longer 'connected' and I need to get them repaired. I ahve seen some spiral things out and about and wonder if these might be better. What are they called and will they be expensive to have fitted.

Also it would appear that the van does not have an on board 12v charger and therefore will not charge up whilst on the drive. Any advice on what I should be asking to be fitted.

Thanks in advance (I am new to all this)

Nick

Hi Nick,

Seems a bit strange you brand new Adria has not got an onboard battery charger, have you been told this or are you just assuming this because you can't find it. Chargers are normaly built into the power unit of the onboard electrics.

The cables you are talking about are called 12N and 12S curly cables and are available from Western Towing, of Exeter, web address as follows:

http://www.westerntowing.co.uk/acatalog/12N_12S_Extension_leads_sockets.html
If you are handy with a stanley knife and screwdriver they are pretty easy to install yourself.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your advice chaps, I now think that the repair has to be done by the dealer to satisfy guarentee. I will investigate those web adresses though, cheers

Nick.
