13 Pin Adaptor

I will be picking up new van which has 13 pin male plug. My car has only 1 off 7 pin socket. is it possible to just use an adaptor to connect to the other, as I don't need fridge etc to be used whisl driving??

Rather than buying an adaptor why not buy a 13 pin plug, much cheaper than the adapter and just use pin 1 to 7.

Just a note to mention that the battery charger on the 13 pin system is on the fridge pin so if you dont use the other pins you wont have your battery charged whilst on the move.

i think you will find that the battery is charged from the permanent supply, the fridge has its own supply and return, BUT also supplies a ignition feed to the habitation relays, which in turn switches the permanent supply to the caravan battery.

I agree with Ray. Continuous 12v is on pin 9, fridge on pin 10, which is ignition controlled. This also powers the habitation relay which switches pin 9 to battery charging while towing.
