hi all,
going to change the car and van to 13 pin ASAP not bothered about the techincal stuff, I am well up on it, and it has been covered well in the past.. however my question is. which is better a single plug on the van with 13 core wire right back to the terminal boxes. or a double entry plug wired to the existing wires,
double entry plug seems easier. but 13pin wire neater which is best and why??
thanks colin

I personally would use a new single cable as it would be easier to move wires about in the correct order to locate on the pins than two seperate cables.

Good point thanks for that, the cables on the van come out of the A frame on either side if the hitch so I suppose one would have to be moved anyway. at present what I have is a single 7core black socket on the car, twin plugs on the van, 5mtrs of 13core wire a 13pin socket and a 13pin plug with 2 grommets a single and a double entry. and just now a blank piece of paper on which to work out the best configuration.

Just a reminder that when you change the car socket to 13 pin it becomes a part of the MOT, so make sure all pins are wired and correctly and when connected to caravan that the audible warning sounds or the dash warning light shows,as these can be failures since January.
