1970s Cavalier caravan still going strong

Meet Nigel Thomas and his family – they've been caravanning since 1986 – in the same 1970s Cavalier caravan!

Find out just what it takes to keep an old tourer going for such a long time – and why Nigel thinks it's worth it – in our Bryony's new blog: Back to the ’70s with my Cavalier caravan.

My Parents had a cavalier, slightly older than that I think but it had the glass windows. They bought it around ‘72 or ‘73 I think and finally sold it in the late 80s once I had run away to sea. We had some fantastic holidays and I will forever be grateful to my folks for the memories made on those short weekends and longer trips away. Happy Days.

I wonder if you would be able to sell many new caravans if they were so poorly equipped? No hot water or fitted toilet, ours was posh having an electric water pump.
