1st attempt at winter vanning!

We have just come back from our 1st winter weekend. We decided to try Park of Brandedlyes just outside Dumfries on the A75 towards Stranrar. Everything was going well - caravan lovely and cozy, plenty of food etc. spent the saturday wandering about, Sunday morning was a different matter we woke up to approx 1 foot of snow!! we had to seek the services of the site Massey Ferguson to pull the car out of a snow drift! and we had to leave the van behind, it took us 2 hours to get home. in all we had a good weekend and not put off by a 'little' snow. we did see some fellow vanners towing but we are fairly new so we didnt want to take any chances which i think was sensible.

Well done Yvonne,

I think you were quite wise to leave the 'van. Some of the roads were diabolical.....and still were today in the Glasgow area.
