2000kg single axle

It was only a matter of time before the inevitable had to happen. AlKo have brought out a 2000kg single axle chassis and Hymer have managed to secure sole right to use it during the first year of production. The 2011 Nova S 545 will be the first single axle caravan on the market with a 2000kg MTPLM.

is that definitely a first. i've got a vague memory of a tabbert 'van about 23ft long and 2 tonne weight on a single axle. haven't seen one for a good few years though.

Possible, but somehow I doubt it. 2000kg for a 23ft caravan sounds very heavy, especially if it was a few years ago when caravans were generally lighter. The 2000kg Hymer Nova S 545 is almost 26ft.

i don't know, my hobby was 2000kgs at just over 23ft, although it was a twin axle.

i'll try to track down the model of 'van, i can't remember who's it was.

Ah, OK, I was referring to overall length. That explains everything. The internal length of the Hymer mentioned above is just under 19ft.
