Well, things don't look as gloomy now, it's looking ok for easter. Incidentally, just trying a nice wine as I type. (Not telling you what is is in case you pinch my recommendations!).

Hey Lol, I'm so excited, we're getting a pup. Going to look at some SBT pups tomorrow in Leicestershire. We have a sbt cross but I can't do any training with her now as she has artritis (spelling) and is unsound despite all the concoctions I give her. So hoping the youngster will take over on the training side.

Any more thoughts on the ferrets? They were in the kitchen for a bit this morning drinking the cat's milk!

We could have racing on crutches at the meet instead of greenl..... (sorry forgot what it was called). When my mum broke her ankle and I accompanied her to hospital, you should have seen the speed at which some of the men were going on their crutches. It was amazing.

Hiya Lisa, we had a great time at Hoborne Bashley, the ticket price for the dinner dance being well worth the money. I felt under dressed in a suit! Never seen so many dicky bows in one place before. Was planning to go see Brian at" Sandy Balls" but something got in the way, still, managed to get the info I needed. Hope you had a great holiday too, looking forward to Easter and it's great news that you'll be able to make it (means that Roy won't have to wear that dress afterall), should be fun! Got no further with the ferret yet, I am waiting a short period as our dog recently died and it seems the right thing to do. Will you be bringing your Staffy with you at Easter?

Yes, planning to take the pup at easter, my husband won't be coming though as we can't get anyone to look after the pets, (only an old lady who is visually impaired, don't go there)! Mind you, he'll enjoy me and our daughter being away, whenever my daughter and I go somewhere (usually stay away whilst visiting horse fairs), he always says 'don't rush back', not sure what that means exactly.

It knocked me back for about 6 months, in fact I shed more tears over that dog than any human being I have lost. Its 3 years now and Ive only just been able to bring myself to watch her on video. Thankfully we still had 2 more dogs which helped. I know some will accuse me of being a sad git but I had her cremated and have left orders for her to be put in with me when I pop my clogs.

Lisa, regarding your dogs arthritis I have read somewhere there is a treatment that they can have that relieves the painful symptoms and gives them a new lease of life. Ive had my wife hunting for the info but she cant find it. If I find it later I will post info to you. Wife seems to remember its expensive though.

Thanks for your posting. My dog is taking crondomax (marine chondroitin 400mg and glucosamine 500mg) plus omega fish oils 500mg. She's recently had a series of injections to promote cartlidge growth. If you could let me know of the other treatment, that would be good.

She's only six and we had great fun dog training but she'll never be sound again, the condition will only deteriorate. So it's just small walks on the lead.

I certainly would'nt think you're a sad git 'cause I would be one too.

We've still got the ashes of our first springer spaniel we had as a family. He has had prime postion, in his wooden casket for the past ten years, and there is no way he is going anywhere until we do!

We scattered the ashes of our last springer in the garden and planted a rose bush and put in tulip bulbs. It looks great in the spring!!

People probably think we're daft - but we don't give a sh*t!!

Hi,

The name of the medicine for arthritis is Metacam. It is also good for any dog bone problem. Our 6 month old Alsation pup has "Paneostitis", bones growing to fast" and within days the difference is remarkable. Our old arthritic Alsation was great on Metacam but when the vet put her on steroids she was dead within 2 weeks.
