2007 sterling 495 entrance door

Hi can anybody help? the entrance door on our above caravan has the new pull type handle on the outside. on the inside you have a lever which moves up to lock where there is a red plastic dot to tell you when locked and when pushed to the bottom the door opens and there is green plastic dot. the question is that when we open the door our handle does not return but did when new. dealer says nothing he can do just spary wd40 and swift was as much help as a choclate teapot. has anybody had the same trouble and how do you sort the problem out?

is this the hartal high security lock.If so we had same on our bailey,i dismantled it and could not fix it.Dealer gave me new one under warranty.It played up when we were 150 miles from home unfortunately.There is a poster on Touring and Tenting who had to sleep in his van outside his house as it broke altogether and he couldnt lock door from outside🙂
