Hi I have had my swift challenger sport 544 for 13 months now. I was cleaning my caravan the other day , on washing the roof I noticed the join of roof and side panel on both sides towards the end of the caravan had really deep cracks/ splits in them. I contacted my local swift dealer and showed them pictures of the splits, and apparently they are stress cracks. Just wondering if there is anyone else out there experiencing the same problems and wether its a big job to repair?

I have a challenger sport 636 - not checked the roof yet , first service due in a couple of weeks ! however a work colleague has the same model as you - he had cracks on the roof where it joins the back panel and he has had the entire back panel replaced !!
The dealer was fine with it ( i guess they would be they will get paid to repair ) but it makes you wonder long term !

By the way forgot to mention , when the chap at work had the rear panel replaced they used a 2013 one ! - slightly different at the corners apparently , not seen it myself so cannot comment.

Thanks all . The van is booked in to have the rear panel replaced under warranty thank god. Obviously a design fault on these grp rear panels so keep your eye on them. I just hope this will be the end of the problem, you dont expect a new caravan to be having so much body repairs this early on.

You don't expect such repairs but reality is sadly different. My Bailey had had front and rear panels replaced due to stres cracks induced at manufacture. The work was done under warranty and the quality of the dealers work far exceeded that of the Bailey factory. No further problems in the subsequent 5 years since the last panel was replaced.
