20A fuse blowing on 2005 Abbey Archway 500

I recently bought this caravan and all has been well except the motor mover had no 'grunt' but this was sorted by wiring a new 85Ah leisurebattery in parallel with the fitted one.

All was well until I replaced the old battery with the new. As I wired up the new battery, there was a flash from the terminals, nothing unusual in this especially since I had forgotten to isolate the 12v circuit.

Nothing now worked on teh 12v circuit though and I soon found a 20A fuse under the bed that came from the battery terminals. After isolating the 12v circuit, using the car/van switch, I replaced the 20A fuse. But now whenever I switch teh 12v circuit back on the fuse blows.

Am I missing anything obvious?

Thanks,

Mark

OK - all sorted.

27 years in Electronics, BSc(Hons) in Electronic Engineering, research papers in radar multiplexing and I still manage to wire up a 12v battery the wrong way round 🙁((((
