Hi all, does anyone no where the power supply comes from to my battery charger on my swift challenger 530 2008. It stopped charging and when I hacked the ac power in there was none. Checked the rcd trip and all seems fine there.

It comes via your EHU lead. So start where that plugs into the mains. Check there is 240v and then work towards the caravan checking at each point there is a connection.
My bet is a loose or broken wire in one of the EHU cable end plugs.

Have you lost mains altogether - check a socket with a lamp or similar which will indicate whether it’s the supply via the hookup or the caravan at fault. Can you identify the manufacturer of the charger/distribution system - some were notoriously unreliable!

Yes van has 240v sockets all work as does the fire and water heater on elec. The make of charger is nordelettronica 143. However there is no 240v going into it ???

Also just found out there is no 249v to the fridge
This has to be linked. Is there a fuse or breaker hidden somewhere
Unfortunately as it is a 2008 caravan I am unsure whether the 12v is required. However on some fridges if it does not have the 12v feed, it will may operate. The 12v probably comes via the charger. The result could be no 240v to the fridge?

Logically if you have mains (230Vac) reaching the caravan, and the 13A sockets provide power, and there is mains to the fridge, but if you cant detect mains power at the battery charger, then clearly there is problem on power supply to the charger.

BUT, you mention you have a a Nordelettronica charger, and alarm bells start to ring, There have been several previous reports of these units failing and needing to be repaired or replaced.

use the search facility to look for "Nordelettronica"

Thanks everyone found the fault. Rcd No 3 works the charger and fridge. Although I tested it for continuity the problem was inside not putting power out. Just bought a new one. Thanks again.
I'm certain your confused. You will have only one Residual Current Detector (RCD) which has the test button - the other switches are Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCB) and there will be one for each mains power circuit in the caravan.
