27mm Clip On Propane Gas Regulator

Hi, i want to change my gas to propane from calor, is a 27mm Clip On Propane Gas Regulator the standard fitting? i dont want to buy one of theses to find i calnt readly get bottles to fit. Thanks. 🙂

Hi,

Propane, whether Calor or another distributer, will have a left handed screw thread fitting for which you need a specific regulator or pigtale if you have the bulkhead regulator. Once on propane there is no need to change back to butane unless you specifically want to, we use propane all year round home and abroad.

It has to be the screw-on from Calor. BP is now available from Homebase as well some as caravan dealerships. The potential benefit of BP, when it was introduced, was its availability in Europe. You won't find Calor overseas and that's one of the reasons I went for BP. But the european roll-out is incredibly slow and still no signs of it in either France or Spain.

Should it become available across the channel, I think it will prove very popular, but until then...

Hello Doug,

Contrary to Charlie's Yup, Not all gas manufacturers offer automatic exchange between Butane & Propane bottles. Some manufactures do not offer butane at-all.

Butane and propne bottles always have different types of connections.

Also I believe that propane LPG is only available with the LH thread POL connector.
