I am looking to purchase a cordless drill plus an attachement foe winding down my caravan legs that is all it will be used for.Can any one tell me a reasonable make but not to expensive also where do I get the attachment and what do I ask for ? Thank you.

you gan get one from screw fix, just cut the bottom off your origonal caravan handle and use the socket end, or use a socket , from uour husbands ses, BUT MAKE SURE THE CHUCK ON THE DRILL YOU BUY OPENS WIDE TO ACCEPT THE SHAFT ON ANY SOCKET REGARDS DJ
The battery voltage doesn't really matter - it is the battery capacity that is more important.
One thing to watch out for with cheap drills is that the battery case may be big but it may not be filled with battery. I bought a cheap one on the continent which looked a good buy but I couldn't open the box before purchase. When I got it apart only the shaft that pushes into the drill handle had batteries in it, the rest of the battery case was empty.
A good idea is also to purchase a 12V-240V convertor that plugs into your car cigarette lighter socket. You can than charge the drill as you travel if necessary. I have a Ring 75W unit and it doesn't even get warm.

If you buy the attachment roll the thin shaft along the edge of a flat surface with the socket over the edge to check that the socket is centered on the shaft. If it is not you end up with a rather 'wobbly' effect when using it.
