Help with purchase

Hi everyone,

Hoping for some help, I am looking at a caravan from a dealer and was happy with everything until I noticed these marks on the rear interior roof of this 2019 Swift Eccles.

They don’t wipe off, is completely dry but my gut tells me this is a problem and not just condensation marks, can anyone advise and help me choose whether to move on or not.

Thanks!

It’s quite difficult to really discriminate between the pictures as there isn’t much contrast between the areas with marks and unmarked areas. But they could be caused by mould occurring through inadequate ventilation over winter. If you have concerns of your own then walking away and looking for another van might be best. Although modern Swift vans are constructed of non permeable materials which resist damage due to water ingress.

Looks to me like someone, not necessarily the dealer, has tried to cover something up. For me it's very difficult to know what the cause of the original issue was. You could ask a mobile caravan engineer to survey the van and see what they suggest the cause might be.
