'A' Frame Towing and Insurance Implications

Could anyone tell me what the insurance implications are for both the motorhome and the tow car when it's being towed and thus classed as a trailer. I have a tow bar fitted to my Bailey 76-2 and I have a Citroen C1 already converted but not used it as a tow car yet. I also have the A frame in readiness. Do I need to tell both insurance companies of my intention to use my car as a tow car - hopefully early July if all goes well? Many thanks in advance.

The only people who can answer your question is the relevant Insurance company you intend to use.
It is no use relying on any information given on any web site, regardless of the best intentions.

This link gives the DOT take on the legalities https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/a-frames-and-dollies/a-frames-and-dollies.

However, the info in that document is applicable only to the UK, for instance Spain does not allow them under any circumstance
