D&D at any time is unforgivable. Will his Insurers pay out? Who knows.Prison? Life time driving ban? Or just a heavy fine?

Very rarely do you get lifetime bans. My neighbour where we last lived was done twice and even the second time only got 6 months. But his reinsurance premiums absolutely skyrocketed. On this one the negligent drivers insurance will pay out to third parties as a minimum. But in principle should not pay his costs and in my opinion they should seek to recover third party payouts from him too.

Some people simply think they will not be caught and carry on. Looks like this driver was proved wrong and will be off the road for some time, plus a large fine and a huge insurance increase.

People who give no thoughts to the consequences of DD rarely care about bans or big increases in insurance costs they simply drive with licence suspended and don’t bother about re insurance on further vehicles.
