Just bought a Bailey Olympus 540-5 2013 and I'm toying with having my current Dorema awning extended to fit, but upon looking into the correct size awning some anomalies have cropped up. The handbook states 1046 for the awning which would mean I need a further 25 cm's added to my current size 15 Dorema (1000-1025), but when chatting with my local dealer he ran a check on the Isabella website and they are saying the Olympus has an A-measurement of 1058 so a tad confused as to which way to go.

The van is still with the dealer at present so I can't actually measure it with my ball of string, and just wondered if anyone else could shed some light on the actual awning measurement for me.

Thanks

Awning measurements do vary significantly between different year models of the same model caravan. (the style has to change a little each year to keep the new buyers happy :(

If I were you, I would wait until I had an opportunity to measure it properly myself .

I'm with Vic on this one, measure it physically but if i had to decide on one think I would lean more towards the handbook. Good Luck.

Thanks for the replies, I'm going to be cheeky tomorrow and pop up to the dealers and measure the van to be 100% sure. I want to be sure as in honesty I went with the handbook on my 2015 Sprite Major 6TD at 1022 and the awning never fitted the van well at all it was always high on one side or the other and when that was checked on the Isabella checker that stated the Major was 1028 and I would agree with that measurement.

I'll update my findings soon.

Are you sure that you were erecting the Sprite awning correctly, or was the van levelled properly as the difference between 1022 and 1028 is well within the normal margins for awnings.
