Alex,do you realize that this forum is in danger of doing more damage to the caravan world the Jeremy Clarkson ever could,I suspect a lot people look here to see what caravanning is all about and are met with pages and pages of abusive postings .Im not here to name and shame, the moderator knows exactly who the culprits are ,but would ask you to act before even more damage is done. Ps ,I welcome comments from other members.....Brian.

I am with you Brain. I am seriously considering leaving this forum as it is degenerating into nothing but a slanging match mainly between 3 people. It is really sad your very witty sense of humour hasn't surfaced much lately so you are obviously as dissillusioned as I am. I loved the banter between you and Tina and one or two others. perhaps those of us you want to use this forum properly should all dissapear to a MSN group or something and chat amongst outselves!

Hi Brian

Dismay is the feeling I have had about the Forum lately and you have summed it up totally. I too have wondered what impression we must be giving about caravanning and its association with PC.

There are many of us who enjoy the banter, but when some people use some four-letter words, tell people to 'get a life' etc. etc. it just becomes unpleasant and unnecessary. This is not being prudish, but it is possible to have fun and put opinions without being abbusive.

Lets have fun, share thoughts, but without the nastiness please.

I'm with you Brian, this froum is getting to be a big joke and I for one am very dissapointed with it. here are my previous comments from a few days ago:

Dear oh dear,

You lot must lead boring and sad life styles with nothing else to satisfy you on a beautiful summers evening than to slag each other off. You think you are so brave typing away to each other debating the individuals choice of towing vehicle. I wish you would have the b--ls to meet up face to face with each other and have a good old sort out and then we might be able to aquire the information from a forum which was designed for this purpose. This used to be a good forum, but if you all carry on with your personal crusades, I for one will not be logging in for much longer. Before you all tap your keyboards, goodbye and good riddance, and by the way there is only one um!

Is it absolutely necessary to use the word b***s to get a point across?
My apologies Daventura, but in the heat of the moment, when I wrote my comments - it was. However, I did have the manners to omit the remaining letters, like you have, which some people do not. I will refrain from doing so in the future because I'm fed up to the back teeth of this forum and do not intend to use it much longer, unless PC magazine do something about the minority which are spoling it.

Certainly if my postings attacking what I believe to be outrageous antics and verbal bullying of the "Anti's" offends anyone (apart from the Anti's themselves of course) then I am truly sorry for you but make no apology for my actions whatsoever.

But I would ask that the accusations made by these "anti's" be taken into consideration. I have NEVER met anything so vile and vindictive.

I defend Caravanning on a 4x4 and Land Rover Forums from nothing more than light hearted banter in the main. But make no mistake there are far more guys like "Peed" out there that would be more than happy to see us banned. But generaly there is NO fanatiscm or vitriol in the postings that have a go at us guys with "white sheds on wheels".

My goodness how different it is on this Forum. Up until recently the "silent majority" just wished it would go away. Thankfully a few more people with backbone have started to stand up to the childish antics.

And that is what it is - childish. Every time they have been proved to be quoting incorrect drivel they make personal attacks on the Forum members who dare to cross them.

As I have said earlier - I have defended our right to tow our caravans behind us against those who would like US BANNED from doing so and it is my estimation that far more motorists think caravans are a ruddy nuisance than 4x4's are.

If the Anti's get their way - it may be 4x4's today and caravans tomorrow. Or possibly vice versa - who can say who will be successful first?

Hi Clive and everyone else !!

Am sure you know have only had my van since April, the amount of people who laughed at me, especially joing the CC club at 34 ! family included, but some of these people, after listening to our adventures over the last few months are now out actively looking at vans !!! I'm a firm believer of " Dont Knock It Till You've Tried It " !!!

Oh I agree with you 100% Tina - Its the "Don't confuse me with the facts - my mind is made up!" tribe that cause the most hassle.

In this office when I get back from using the caravan - all the guys come and sit really close - just for a laugh because thats what they think living in a caravan must be like. - No space and we all have to move arround like synchronised swimmers.

I see the funny side and have a laugh as well. Then I poke fun at a couple of the guys who spend good money trying to knock a little ball into a lot of holes using a variety of funny shaped sticks! Wierd - what is the sence of that? It's a funny game named after a german car I think.

People are funny arn't they.

I'm getting quite despondent because we only have four more sites booked - Snowdonia - Minehead - Blenheim Palace and Rhandirmyn then that'll be my lot for this year. Then comes the time I start wishing my life away and willing the Spring to come quick.

Steady Graham - best not mention children in ANY WAY!

Knaga - can and does then put 2 & 2 together and make about 47million.

God thats a depressing thought.

When I walked the dogs last night on the Forest I thought that sun is lower than it should be - but no - it is - my time clock is out.

Mind you - I am looking forward to retirement when we intend to spend 3 or four winter months of the year in Portugal or Spain.

Why buy a Villa and have all the legal hassles? Apparently there is an excellent social life and cheap flights to enable a quick return for Christmas if you want.
