Angela they can probably smell the bait you are putting on the traps so the bounce sheets wont be a deterrent to them.
 
I read a tip and have used it for the last 2 years. Mice do not like tumble dryer sheets that you use for softening clothes. Just place them around the van and no mice! We store on a farm and had mice. Since we spread these sheet around none have visited the van. Also as an added bonus the van always smell nice when you go to it.
 
we had a similar problem last year and now set traps at the end of the season just in case. It got in originally because a small bung had come out underneath the caravan. leaving some food in the van doesn't attract the mice but it does mean they eat that instead of destroying the foam or plastic and it also means you can spot the invaders fairly quickly if you spot check throughout the winter.
