The radicals and the liberalists first blamed America and the UK for the the formation of Al Queda by being in Iraq, now they are blaming it for being in Afghanistan. Al Queda and the Taleban were around long before that.

My personal opinion is that we shouldn't be there and my belief is based on a simple assumption.

In Afghanistan there are tribes run by warlords who were fighting each other.

In southern Iraq the Sunnis and Shias were fighting each other while in the north the Kurds were fighting the Iraqis. In Turkey they are fighting the Kurds.

In Ghaza and the Westbank, Fatah and Hamas are fighting each other whilst in Lebanon the army is fighting the Palestian Hamas brigades.

In Somalia, Eritrea, infact probably all of the horn of Africa they are fighting each other. There are many other places where different branches of Islam, whether under the guise of religion or political affiliations are fighting each other.

If you get my drift all we have to do is withdraw from Muslim countries and sit back and wait and they will solve the problem by wiping each other out. The Pope was right when he made the speech that Islam was a violent religion.

Robert your late father was right and what he said was well phrased - as previously stated if only Enoch Powell was in Parliament these days. We can do something about it - we can up roots and head for Australia where their Prime Minister appears to have adopted the right attitude. If only I was younger and know what I know now. We were accepted into Australia, New Zealand and Canada under the old

I think its a disgrace that there seems to be a form of discrimination in the police force. There should be no speacial treatment if you are gay or are of ethnic background everyone should be treated the same.

This could only happen in Britain,I miss the Great as i feel that it is no longer.

In the paper last week a man has been banned from wearing a hat of some sort because it has a George Cross on it and was deemed to be racist. Are these people for real.I am proude to be English and find this type of thing disgusting.

Do we get the muslims banned from wearing their clothes, get them to shave off their beards and enforce them to speak English when in public places. No we dont.We also dont call them racist for wearing these things.

Why because if we do the tables get turned and we end up getting the label of Racist. We are in a no win situation.

Oh and the man wearing the offending item was Black so who was calling him racist?,it didn't say.

Will

ps where can i get a George Cross pin badge.

Getting back to the original question, I can see the argument that says an organisation should have a policy that lays out its equal opportunities position, but why is it then necessary to have separate policies, for racial equality, Gender equality, Disables access equality, and all the other specified groups. Surly and equal opportunities policy should encompass all groups in society (except for caravanners of course
