A suitable awning for an Avondale Caravan.

:) Hi all. I'm posting this on behalf of a good friend. He has an Avondale Avocet. These 'van's all seem to have the same curved roof and low awning rail height. This poses a problem for my friend because any awning he tries, seem to "dip" back into the 'van side rail. This allows rain water to collect in the roof. We have tried a Sunncamp nylon porch of mine, but this is worse. Anyone with an Avondale on here that can help please? He's been to several awning dealers and so far, they have been unable to advise.

I had a van with a 'boat shaped' roof and no full awning was ever successful. You could however obtain a 7 foot high porch awning from NR, but I'm not sure if they are still available.

Further to my post above I believe that NR Awnings are at least as good quality as any others you can buy and as far as I am aware they are the only awnings still manufactured in the UK.
I thought I'd better mention that the only connection I have with NR is owning one of their awnings.

Aren't Bradcot also made in the UK?

I've been told that the parts are cut, sent abroad for manufacture and then returned. I was surprised because we had a Bradcot for our Lunar Delta. having had both I don't think that the Bradcot comes close to the NR for quality.

I had trouble finding an awning to fit my caravan. I phoned NR Awnings at Todmorden on 01706 815821 and they couldn’t have been more helpful. I bought an NR awning in the end and have been very pleased with it.
