Hi everyone, we have a weeks holiday from the 8th march and would welcome any suggestions for a good site to visit for a week. We have a 4 year old daughter so would like facilities, i.e pool and club house. I know that might be difficult this time of year as most commercial sites don't open till easter. We live in Shropshire and don't mind a journey 4 or 5 hours. However (Wales would be nice). Any suggestions please.

Hi Peter

Have a look at this site in Brean, about two hours towing from Birmingham.

www.hru.co.uk

It has the facilities that you require and has a childrens club. It will be fairly quiet in March

You may frown at this suggestion but have you tried Haven? www.touringholidays.co.uk. I've got to admit we are usually really picky about the sites we visit but have got to admit our 3 year old son loves them. Even in windy March there is something for him to do and all the facilities are open on site even though it is not high season. You will probably get a cheap deal as well. Before you book it though read the review on www.ukcampsite.co.uk. We are booked in at Martin Mere in Blackpool for the weekend (

hanks Parksy, that looks what were after, I will look into a little more.

Dan & Paula, we've been to Haven for the past 3 years but as easter is early we are unable to go this year. They don't open until the weekend we come home.

Like you say they are not everyone's cup of tea but we like them but have only been off peak and usually get a bargain.

Thanks for your replies

Dan & Paula, we went to Marten Mere in Oct 2006 to catch the last weekend of the lights in blackpool. I thought the site was good and it was only a short journey by double decker into blackpool which our daughter really enjoyed.
