A169 all the way to Whitby YES or NO

Hi Folks

Travelling from Huddersfield to Whitby, whats the best route? I've just looked on multimap and it shows the shortest route as A1 A19 Thirsk and around the top, or would A169 A170 out to Scarborough and up the coast on the A171 be better?

the a1 a64 would be a better route and probably quicker

Towed my van to Whitby 4 weeks ago, took the A64 past York, A169 Malton, Pickering then on to Whitby, NO problem, just watch out for the steep hill in to Sleights and then back out,
