A171 Guisborough to Whitby travel advice

I know that caravans are banned from the A174 Sutton Bank, and later this year kooking to go to thel ikes of scarborough and whitby which all planning routes even the caravan and motorhome club site say to use the A171 as were traveling from the north, are caravans permitted on birk brow bank because that the route that is being advised

It’s a longish drag with one relatively sharp turn, but nothing that should phase a well matched outfit. Plus if the CMHC designate it as the recommended route you will be okay.

A171 no problem as used daily by HGV Artics there are a few twisty up and down bends though, between Whitby and Scarborough,but large Lorry’s negotiate it, and caravan will be no problem. Used this road many times over the years

I agree with the others, A171 at Birk Brow , is dual carriageway, with a convient carpark just at the end going south, to admire the view.
