Those of you planning a trip to the West Country at Easter had better allow some extra time as the numpties in the Highways Dept have decided to dig up BOTH arterial routes to Devon & Cornwall and install some contra-flows!! The A38 from Exeter to Plymouth has a 5 miles stretch near Ashburton, and the A30 goes straight down to one lane immediately off the M5. We went up the A30 on Friday night, travelling north. The south bound queue was about 10 miles of very slow moving traffic. Why do they plan major road works to co-incide with the holiday rush?
