This is a message for all you good people coming down to Devon and Cornwall. When you come off the end of the M5, if you are heading towards Plymouth and the Tamar Bridge, be aware that although there are only a couple of Fixed Speed cameras on the A38, this is a favourite hunting ground for the Devon Speed Camera Partnership. (Cash machines on Wheels).

These leeches position their nasty little vans and mobile cameras at locations (usually lay-bys and bridges), which are just over the brows of hills or at the far end of long straights (and well hidden by other traffic until it's too late).

My advice: Don't speed on the A38. Period.

If you do......you WILL get caught.

They ARE there. We know.....we live here!!

You can tell the fine weathers' here in Lancashire as they are out in force at present. Greater Manchester are also doing it in grand style, with lots of mobile units and sitting on motorway bridges etc. My radar detector pings away allday now, but just set the cruise and away you go.

Yes another couple of favourites are the large lay-by just before the Plympton turn off, heading towards Exeter.

Also the lay-by about half a mile before the turn off for Plymouth where they have a horrible little "mini-van" with an evil little window in the back pointing right down the long straight.

Saw a car travelling at well over 90 mph yesterday. He will certainly have been caught by THAT one!!

For any of you more local people, I have also now seen another camera on the embankment!! A mobile one.

Coming out of Plymouth along the embankment, heading towards Marsh Mills roundabout (and the A38) there is a fixed camera by the railway sidings (40mph limit). Another 400 yards along the road, there is a filling station on your left (BP I think). Just past and alongside that filling station, there is a slope, facing downwards, and they are now sitting up there. Very well hidden, and very sneaky!

I understand that they have caught several HUNDRED motorists on this one within three weeks. You have been warned!!
