AA or CARAVAN CLUB

rob,

Could you say which routes the AA and Caravan Club advised. With that information and having lived in the Peak District I may be able to help.

Hi Rob

I live in essex and went to losehill CC site in Peak district for half term, I went A130 onto M11 onto A14 onto M1. Took 3hrs 40m with no hold up and no problems.

Its always better then the A12/M25/M1 route and no difference in milage for me although the satnav preferers the M25 route..

Cheers

Thanks for that. We are going to Lose hill as well funnily enough. What did you think of the site? Any tips you can pass on are much appreciated.

When you left the M1 at J29 which route did you take to the site?

Thanks

Rob

rob,

A617 to Chesterfield.

A619 through Baslow.

A623 to Calver.

A625 onto A6187 to Losehill (Castleton)

DO NOT use the B6051 from Chesterfield or the B6054.

Hi the site is excellent and the best pitches are on the old tent site which is now all hardstanding but its a coldersac so little traffic. The dog walk is small but we use to take ours up the lane on the left after turning left as you walk out off the site. We hope to go again next year

Enjoy..
