AA top rated facilities

Having just come back from Haven in Cleethorpes where one shower block was vandalised and out of order and the other one had 3 showers one of which had no lock and the rest of the men's areas very unclean. We've decided to research a bit more about facilities available.

Apart from the AA list of platinum rated facilities is there any other resources I should look at ?

We use

Plus the two main Clubs own sites , Caravan and Motorhome Club , and, Camping and Caravan Club. Both have their own excellent sites plus Certificated Locations and Certificated Sites

It might help if you outlined what you're looking for. Are you traveling as a family with children and looking for lots of facilities and entertainment, or as a couple and looking for a quiet break? Any particular area(s), inland or coast?

The club sites (CAMC / CCC) generally get decent reviews. Personally I prefer CLs and smaller sites which vary in terms of facilities (many don't have toilet / shower) but they're much quieter and cheaper.

There is Best of British range of sites.
As said above I’ve always found CMHC and C&CC to be if a good standard, not necessarily luxurious but clean and well managed.

There are much nicer sites than those run by Haven. I assume you had children with you. There are various search sites; ukcampsite as mentioned by DD is among the best as you can filter by your requirements. This one is not bad either
If you are on FB look for a group that is about sites for families. I have got lots of recommendations from one or two FB groups about adults only sites and CLs.
Also if you find a site you fancy, check it out on You Tube. There are often helpful ( and unhelpful) videos reviewing sites.
Don’t despair there are some great places out there

If you tell us whereabouts you want to go and your requirements ( kids play area, dog walk, pub, whatever) ; I am sure that we will be able to recommend some good ones.
