am picking up my new abbey g.t.s 08 model wednesday,is there anythink to look out for with this model of caravan? does any body have the 418 model and are you happy with it?looking forward to easter see you out there

Exciting times. There are plenty of threads on here about collection of a new caravan. Just be certain your dealer connects water and electricity and explains how everything works.

Examine all the body panels very carefully for any damage and likewise internally, eg do all locks etc work.

Enjoy the day because the collection is part of the thrill.

Keep an eye on the seal round the door. My 2007 Ace Jubilee Courier leaked and made a real mess. Also check the tap in the bathroom as it may leak (mine did).

Hi, we have a year old Cardinal 495 (basically same I think). Only problem we had seems to be a design fault - bathroom door not long enough, leaving a small gap at the bottom allowing shower to leak out. I glued some clear plastic tubing along the bottom rail and this fixed the leak. Other than that we love the van and the layout.
