Hi, 1st timer!! (on caravanning & forum)We have looked today at an Abbey Expression 540 6 berth. It is a special of Michael Jordan's Caravan Dealers. Apparently it is in between a Vogue & GTS. Does anyone know anything about them? We really liked it but are a little concerned as it is a special & would this affect re-sale etc? They have been in production for 12 years but I can't find anything about them. Please help. Thanking you in advance, Tanya

Hi Tanya,

We have an expression 550 (6 berth).

Bought it new from Michael Jordans back in January.

It is as you say their special edition, basically a reworked Vogue with some extras in. Ours has been fine, build quality seems good touch wood, and there seem to be enough used Expressions on the market at similar prices to the Vogue or whatever the predecessors were,so I am not concerned myself about the resale.

Good luck with whatever you decide on.

That is the exact caravan we looked at. Is yours the one with the bathroom sink that pivot's to make an enclosed shower? If so how is it? That we thought was one of the selling points. My husband hates shower curtains & that pivot sink is a fab idea. I saw a 2006 van advertsised but it did not have this feature so I take it that it started this year.

Hi Tanya,

We haven't used the shower that much as we have used on site facilities, but the odd time that we did use it found it very easy to use and it kept the rest of the washroom quite dry and free from spray. The on board water pump delivers good pressure as well.

John.

Forgot to say- no there are no shower curtains to worry about.

Only thing is you may have noticed the washroom door doesn't have a lock on it, only a magnetic catch so you need to sing loudly while your'e in there...........................

I bought my first caravan from Michael Jordan in 1976. If they are as good now as in 1976 I can't see any problems. The Expression looks good value. It is is based on a Swift Group product so should be durable.

We have an Expression 520 (2001)which Jordans have agreed as a part ex for a new 550 which we collect from them tommorow- the part ex they gave was nearly 6k so quite pleased as they also sold the new on at an ex display price - the said when I ordered it 2 weeks ago that they only had 3 new ones left at the factory- I don't know if this is true or not but if it is as good as the last expression it should be happy days!! I will let you know but Jordan's seem to be the most user freindly caravan supplier in the south east- I wouldn't touch Chich caravans with a barge pole- went in ther to view a coachman similar layout and the salesman looked down his nose at me- oh well, his loss, maybe I will book in a service with them next year!!
