Hello everyone,Only ever posted once before, but so angry at the attitude of Abbey regarding gel coat repairs to the rear panel of my 02 model vogue gts.It has been repaired I think at least 3 times for cracks, the last time in April 06. But this repair has reappeared in exactly the same place,(about 4 inches long), phoned Swift this morning, they do not want to know, repairs only last for 12 months. Just visited my local dealer, mega money for repair.I just feel that Swift takes its customers for idiots, thanks for reading this I feel better already.regards Anthony

You are obviously frustrated in our response.

Your caravan is now in its 6th year and our warranty period is 3 years. I am guessing that we carried out the repair in April 06 outside of the warranty period. It is normal practice for repairs to carry a 12 month guarantee as this is different to a warranty on the whole product.

The response you have received from our customer care team is the one I would expect. As an organisation we do need to draw the line somewhere on carrying out repairs on vans outside of warranty.

Perhaps we could talk to the dealer to understand the nature of the repair and see if there are any cheaper options. Please let us know by sending an email to enquiries@swiftleisure.co.uk, please tell us about this post and then we know who you are.

Regards

Kath

Whilst I know that Kath is correct re the 12 month warranty on the last repair, for a crack to keep reappearing in the same place one could be led to believe either there is an inherant fault with the panel or the repairs are not being carried out correctly. If I carried out a repair on my van I would expect it to last forever.

Hi

I'd agree with the last poster - if the problem is recurrent, then something's amiss somewhere.

However, I'm impressed with Swift that they monitor these pages and actually intervene when customers sound-off about what they consider to be poor service or a fault that should've been rectified.

Well done Swift (for that, at least!)

swift group, the repair was carried outside of your 3 year warranty period, but it was reported well before, the delay was entirely Swifts fault, your engineer waits for a few vans to be sorted to make trip worthwhile.

regards Anthony.

Hello everyone, just a update on the gel coat cracking to the rear panel.Swift customer care department has really done a cracking (no pun intended)job of getting it repaired for me.

I would like to to thank Kath Powell and her team at Swift for their understanding of a very irate customer.

Thank you,Anthony and Janice

Hi Anthony, Glad you got it repaired at last. If you're running a book on how long before the crack reappears (4th time?)I'll have a fiver with you.
