Made even worse by the Government of the day and the NCB who took £150,000 from the Disaster Fund to pay for the tips removals

We made a visit there, to pay respect about 10 years ago. Very sad.

I was a very young junior schooler at the time and of course had seen the TV reports. As a family we had friends in Cardiff. it was only a few days after it happened that we travelled down to see them and passed the disaster on the way down. Even as a very young child it had a sobering effect on me.
I can still see the scene in my mind today.
