I think we have already had this question recently but Joby has posted a nice story about a runaway Range Rover (no its not a dig at 4x4s!) which almost demolished an awning. It makes your blood run cold to think what would have happend to anyone sleeping in, so whats your favourite "accident" story? Pauline had quite a good one when we hired a "static" in Swanage, she stepped out the door but missed the step (drunk again!) and her bare foot went in to the long grass by the door. Some p**t had broken one of the oldfashioned glass gas lamp shades and just left it by the door and the grass had grown around it so it was invisible. The jagged glass went right through her foot. Thank goodness for Swanage hospital! Still makes me cringe when I think of it. Jim.

Not caravan related, sorry.

When I was about 27 I had a chestnut gelding 17.2 hh, he probably weighed just over half a tonne.

Anyway, it was a glorious summer's evening and very hot. I had the brilliant idea of taking my boots off to get some air to my feet. I also had another brilliant idea of leading him through a barn rather than leading him past the barn to get to the field (this would save me all of 20 seconds).

So there I was leading him through the barn barefoot, bit of a tight squeeze due to hay bales etc, I wasn't paying attention, he spooked at something, he went up in the air (reared) and his shod front foot landed on my right foot which obviously wasn't protected by any footwear.

To say it hurt would be an understatement, broke several bones in my foot and needed stitches. I was unable to ride/drive for weeks.

Very impressed Graham!!

Have you ever seen a bow legged sheep farmer? When I lived in Kent, I used to buy hay from this farmer. Even though I was a young girl, I can still see him now as clear as day, sheepdog running between his legs. Funny how you remember things like that!!!

My great-grandfather was killed by a dray horse. He was the landlord of the Bulls Head in Leominster at the time, back in the early 1900s.
Gosh Lord B that's terrible. What happened?
