Hi All

As newbies, we took the 'van out for our first trip this weekend. Friday night all was fine, but woke up on Saturday morning with no 12v. Only things that worked was the heater (No blown air), electric sockets and a couple of lights from 240v hook up.

Some of our neighbours on site and the site manager had a look and suggested that the battery wasn't been charged. When we flicked the switch for the battery charger the voltage did not change, but stayed at 7.4 volts.

After reading through the posts on this site I am coming to the conclusion that the on board charger is faulty. My one question though is that on the journey home (2 1/2 Hours) the battery had charged back up to 12v, is this normal to charge even of the onboard charger is faulty? Any suggestions or advice would be greatly received (especially from anyone at Swift).

If your battery charged up on the way home, then the charger is faulty & needs looking at.

You might get a quicker response on swift's own forum, follow the link below...

Hi Andrew

Had the same problem with our Ace Morningstar last year, we were away in Cornwall.

On advice from a engineer on site we phoned Swift and they sent us a New charger the next day on DHL...

Its very easy to change.

Good luck

We had exactly the same problem with our Jubilee Courier last Halloween, returned to dealer and they replaced the charger, apparently this is a regular occurrence with a batch of faulty chargers to blameapparently.
