Adding 12v Fridge Fan

The addition of small 12v powered fans to assist cooling the fridge in very hot weather has been discussed on this forum several times. I've decided to fit one before heading off to sunny France later in the summer. I've got the fans and switch but am wondering what is the best way off going about connecting it up. The van's 12v fuse box does not seem ready to accept any other wiring apart from that already installed. Do I connect directly to the battery, or break into a supply to something else. I know several of you have already fitted this to your vans and I would appreciate any advice. Electrics is one of the many skills I don't have so simple explanations please.

Many thanks.

I took the 12v from the back of a 12v socket on the worksurface next to the fridge. I wired it through a switch in case I didn't want the fan on for some reason, and also through an adjustable thermostst mounted in the fridge outlet, I found that 30 degs C was about right.
