I could do with an additional power socket in my caravan at a lower level. The ones fitted are just plug in there is no on off switch. Is is an easy job to do? Where could i obtain one of these sockets from. It is a Tabbert caravan and I have searched the net to no avail.

Your dealer should have them or get one for you. We couldnt get the same ones on our last van but the dealer got 2 for me. Its an easy job to do for a competent diy-er

Presumably the ones you have that came as standard with the van are the continental type sockets made by a company called Berker..It is possible to buy the same sort ( with no switch )but have the 3pin British type socket..have a look here

On a recent visit to the Coachman factory I was asking about sockets and was told I could order them through my dealer but they were specially made for Coachman and imported from New Zealand.

No wonder they are expensive.
