I am trying to use search for a subject but the Advanced Search button does not bring up any further options such as Author, which Forum, when posted etc. Is there a problem in using this with a Mac?

Unfortunately Clive the people who built this forum never completed it, and the search software is totally inadequate for the vast amounts of data which is stored somewhere.
The supreme irony is that the long promised forum upgrade took years to deliver and the excuse given at the time was that the accumulated information from years of forum posts had to be saved

There is no method of finding an author of a topic although if by some lucky chance you happen to find what you were looking for the information is there.

What subject were you looking for?

Another problem is that more recent topics are not shown, yet another shortcoming from useless so called I.T. 'experts' who apparently had very little idea of how a normal internet forum is supposed to operate.
What really annoys me to this day is that I was asked to stay in touch with the builders of this website so that the myriad snags could be ironed out, but when I took the time and trouble to do so I was curtly rebuffed and instructed not to contact them directly.
If I told you what I really think I'd be banned

Thanks for the feedback Parksy, I can understand your sense of frustration. I was just seeing if there were any posts on Towsure movers as someone has just bought and fitted one, so I guess I was curious to see if there were any views previously posted. But it was only because I'd got time on my hands so please don't spend any time on my behalf as our van has a Reich already fitted; which I think is still in working order! Cheers

One of the easiest ways to find things from the forum I have found, is to put the word ( Practical Caravan ) into Google with the item or poster after it .......
Not too many words though, but it will work better if you have the poster's name & item.....

I would put you a link in but I am at work & using my phone ....
