Caravanning in Europe brings the advantage of meeting many people from other parts of Europe. After 8 years we have met many who have visited us in the UK and we have visitedthem in their country. Next weekend we are off to Holland to an Andre Rieu concert in Arnhem stahying with one of these couples who we met on a site in Passau. On the Friday we are all going to visit another couple we met up with on a site in Switzerland and from there we are all going onto Amsterdam for the day. So glad we started visiting Europe with the Caravan.

Good for you Dianne. We travel in Europe for extended periods because (a) I have since 1957 and would miss it badly (b) winter sun seems to keep my aged bones in better condition (c) it is a joy to drive on less crowded roads (d) because we meet a lot of people - Brits and others who we would not have met otherwise, leading to long-term friendships (e) variety in food and wine (f) because I'm a bit of a rolling stone and this stops too much moss accumulating (g) because it's there (h) because you appreciate the beauty of the English countryside even more when you've been away from it for a while (i) Some day soon I may not be able to.

I'll have a think about completing the alphabet, but these are the main points.

I can only echo what Dianne and Ray have said.Caravanning in UK is wonderful, except for the volume of traffic before you get anywhere! Caravanning is Europe is equally wonderful, without the volume of traffic.(except round Hamburg last year GRRRR)
And yes, Dianne, we have made new friends, both Europeans and brits.
