Air-assist suspension explained

We added Dunlop Air suspension to our van a few years ago. It makes for a much better ride, and cornering. Would recommend to any one, Easy to adjust as well. (depending on load)

What sort of price are we looking at?

David

cost in 2011 was £344.17 plus we had a gauge valve assembly £67.82 . Bought from Marcle Leisure. We had them fitted at a local Fiat Garage (Commercial) For £180.00 plus Vat.
We found the road handling much better and corners a lot better as well. Easy to pump up, or down, according to load etc.
If you have the tools and are capable , you could fit them yourself, but we where happy to let a much younger man , with the right tools to fix, for us.. Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. I am getting too old to crawl under motorhome, the Bailey might be too low for my shape anyway 😉 There are so many nice to haves on motorhomes!!!

We had semi air rear suspension fitted in January. Has made the van better able to cope with the poor road surfaces in the UK - less banging and crashing. However, it is expensive on an Alko chassis. We had quotes, including fitting, starting at £1,600. Full air suspension on both axles was quoted at in excess of £7,000.

There are lots of different systems as Dave says so you must ensure you get the right system for your chassis that will deliver the benefits you seek.

Go ahead and have them fitted, most makes offer similar performance. I had mine fitted by the supplier cos I couldnt work under the van. They have been on around 4 years and had the benefits other posters have mentioned.

Improved road holding on windy exposed motorways, cornering and general ride is what I noticed.

Havnt read Daves article as the mag stopped coming so havn't read it for a few months.
