We very seldom need to bang in pegs as it can cause pain in the joints for either of us.To bang in the rock pegs we use heavy duty hammer it does the trick .
i think a hammer would be quicker than a electric drill as you say it takes longer to inflate the awning and less painful for my joints
Pleased with our new awning we feel it good value for the money
