Ako Hitch Stabiliser (3004)

Hi all,

How can tell if my AKS3004 is actually working correctly? I know how to check for wear, Ie, the marks on the docking cover and the position of the handle! However even with what appears to be the correct tension, how can I check that there is the correct friction between the pads and the tow ball, lets say the friction pads were contaminated with oil or diesel fumes etc?

Cheers

Being a sad guy who reads manuals the Alko manual gives no advice on this but says if the pads are contaminated they should be replaced. If the wear test is OK and there is no groaning on slow corners or over lumps they should be OK. I had dust contamination and lots of noise. Brake and clutch cleaner and kitchen roll sorted it.

Cheers Waffler. You'll be pleased to know that your not the only sado who reads manuals, I had downloaded the manual for the hitch from the Alko website, I forgot to mention it in my previous post, I was hoping to have had reams of advice/hints/tips. Thanks for your post matey.

Cheers
