BB, this is a friction pad kit. You can clearly see the shims, like washers, that are used to pack out the spacing if there is too much play or the green tell tale isnt showing as it should. They dont always need to be used.

Not seen any mention of if the lever is difficult to articulate when not hitching. Can you move the lever up and down with no resistance when the van is unhitched? And is your Towball in good condition?

DD The caravan repairer suppose to have given it a service will know more when we get home and take it to him but thanks for your input πŸ™‚

The Towball has a black plastic towable cover so it in fab condition but thanks for your input on this matter πŸ˜‰
 
The caravan repairer said it been sorted but i still find it got some resistance but that must be normal
You need resistance to ensure the stabiliser pads are in good contact with the towball. It’s a friction stabiliser and it’s the resistance that effectively sets the stabilising friction force.
