Purchased a set of these for my 2007 Bailey Ranger. Fitted them as to specification and technical data sheet given. But to me it seems incorrect the swing-arm faces to the back off caravan. The shock adsorber is fitted the other side of this. So as you go over a bump in the road the swing arm goes up. The shocker is pulled out. I have always thought it should go in to adsorber or am I geting old and not keeping up wih things.

Any one else fitted these.

I fitted red versions to my 2005 Vandee. Yes the damper works the opposite way to car dampers.

This is how it is designed, dont worry it is fine

Stephen,

That's a good question - car and caravan shock absorbers work in both directions - they dampen movement both ways...

Stephen,

All shockabsorbers work either push or pull. Basically you have a tube of oil, or gas, and a plunger sealed to the sides of the tube with what is called a foot valve with a hole of the required size. Any movement in either direction is "damped" when the tube contents are forced thro the valving.

Your input does put my mind a rest. I just could not get my mind round it. Should have just fitted them and stopped thinking how thay worked.
